Discount, Coupon and Gift Card Policy

Discount, Coupon & Gift Card Policy

Purpose

This Discount, Coupon & Gift Card Policy outlines the terms of any discounts, coupon codes, gift cards, store credit, loyalty programs, referral bonuses or other promotions that Tech-Eyes may provide.

It is intended to ensure that all promotional offers are consistently, transparently, and fairly applied, and to prevent misuse, fraud, and customer misunderstandings. This policy summarizes the conditions for eligibility, use, expiration, exclusions, and redemption for all promotional benefits provided to customers by Tech-Eyes in its retail stores, on its website, in marketing campaigns, and in promotional programs.

Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

  • Discount: A reduction in the advertised selling price of an eligible product or service.

  • Coupon Code: A promotional code issued by Tech-Eyes that provides a specified promotional benefit when valid eligibility requirements are satisfied.

  • Gift Card: Prepaid stored value issued by Tech-Eyes that may be redeemed toward eligible purchases.

  • Store Credit: Non-cash purchasing credit issued by Tech-Eyes following approved returns, warranty resolutions, goodwill gestures, or other business decisions.

  • Promotion: Any limited-time marketing offer, campaign, bundle, loyalty reward, referral incentive, employee pricing, or promotional benefit administered by Tech-Eyes.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Checking out the terms of the promotion prior to a purchase

  • Making sure that promotional codes are entered properly before checkout.

  • Ensuring the items or services in their cart are eligible for the promotion. Keeping promotional codes confidential when used, and not sharing, selling or giving away promotional codes.

  • If they think a promotional or pricing mistake has been made, informing Tech-Eyes immediately.

Tech-Eyes Responsibilities

  • Administer promotional offers fairly and consistently across eligible customers.

  • Apply valid discounts in accordance with the published promotional terms.

  • Look into customer complaints regarding actual pricing or promotions.

  • Provide relevant promotion conditions and exclusions as reasonably as possible.

  • Honor eligible promotional benefits consistent with this policy and each promotion’s specific terms.

Technical Errors

In the event any promotional benefit cannot be applied correctly due to a pricing error, checkout malfunction, coupon system failure, website error or other technical error, Tech-Eyes may investigate the situation and, if applicable, may make the necessary adjustments or restoration to the customer’s eligible promotion after verifying the customer’s eligibility.

Pricing Errors

Tech-Eyes reserves the right in all cases to cancel, correct or refuse any transaction on which it has discovered obvious pricing errors, promotional calculation errors, duplicate discounts, or any other error caused by the system, whether before or after confirmation of the order, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If a correction or cancellation is made, Tech-Eyes will notify the customer and, if payment has been received, will issue a refund or correct the charge.

Order Cancellation

Tech-Eyes will decide whether, if a qualifying order is cancelled prior to completion, there is a future opportunity to use the same promotional item or it is considered redeemed, in accordance with the terms of the applicable promotion and the circumstances of the cancellation. The cancellation of an order does not automatically mean the customer can reuse the same coupon code, unless the promotion is still active and the eligibility criteria remain the same.

Partial Returns

If part of a promotional purchase is returned, Tech-Eyes may recalculate the original purchase to see if the customer still meets the promotional eligibility requirements.

Discounts, bundle discounts, or items returned for a free/discounted item may be changed, and the refund amount will be based on the discounted price of the returned item, not the undiscounted retail price.

Example: A customer buys a phone case and charging cable, and returns just the accessory, having used coupon code WELCOME10. The discount will be renewed, and the refund will be based on the actual discounted price for the returned item.

Promotion Priority

Where multiple promotions could apply to the same purchase, Tech-Eyes reserves the right to determine the order in which promotions are evaluated and applied. All promotions, unless otherwise noted, may only be used once in combination with one other eligible promotion, and promotions may not be stacked or combined unless specifically stated in the terms of the promotion. Customer adds two coupons to cart at checkout. Only one can be accepted; the most beneficial eligible promotion will be automatically accepted, and the second promotion will be rejected.

Promotional Availability

Some promotions may only be offered via specific Tech-Eyes sales channels, retail stores, website, marketing campaigns or promotional partners. The availability of a product may be subject to conditions, including the specific location, product stock, participation of suppliers, or specific promotions, and Tech-Eyes will specify such conditions when reasonably possible when the offer is advertised.

Gift Card Balance

Customers must keep their gift card or their digital gift card information (code and/or PIN, if applicable). If balance enquiry services are offered, customers can check their gift card balance in-store, online, or by contacting the customer service team, as identified by Tech-Eyes.

Gift cards are not redeemable for cash unless required by applicable Canadian law, but are redeemable only toward eligible products and services at participating Tech-Eyes locations or online, as applicable, and in accordance with the applicable terms.

Lost, stolen, damaged, altered, or unauthorized gift cards may not be replaced unless sufficient proof of ownership is provided. Customers should treat gift cards as cash and retain purchase documentation where possible.

Store Credit Usage

Store credits issued by Tech-Eyes (resulting from approved returns, warranty resolutions, promotional adjustments, or goodwill gestures) may only be applied toward eligible future purchases made through Tech-Eyes. The majority of store credits are non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be used in conjunction with some promotions, as specified in the promotion rules. Store credits are not cash payments unless required by applicable law, and Tech-Eyes reserves the right to set reasonable expiration dates and/or minimum purchase requirements as allowed.

Promotional Abuse Examples

If a promotional transaction is cancelled, the discount may be changed or the promotional benefit withdrawn for any transaction that is found to be misused or fraudulent. Promotional abuse may occur in any of the following ways, but is not limited to:

  • Making several customer accounts to get a promotion more than once.

  • Using false or temporary email addresses to avail an offer.

  • Reselling, transferring, or publicly distributing promotional codes.

  • Taking part in an unauthorized employee discount.

  • Taking advantage of an error in pricing or in the system.

  • Manipulating referral programs to generate unearned rewards.

  • Using automated software, bots, or scripts to obtain promotions.

  • Abusing the return/refund process over and over to get discounts.

Examples: A customer creates a second account and uses the same WELCOME10. The duplicate code has been cancelled, and the duplicate account can be either merged with the original account or suspended.

Customer Communication

Tech-Eyes will make reasonable efforts to communicate to the customer the eligibility for the promotion, the expiry dates, the result of validation of the coupon, the price changes and changes in the terms of the promotion, as reasonably practicable, using the appropriate communications such as the Tech-Eyes website, email, order confirmations and in-store notices.

Force Majeure

If there are any delays in, or inability to fulfil, promotional offers due to factors beyond the reasonable control of Tech-Eyes, including but not limited to shortage of suppliers, outages of websites, payment processor failures, internet downtime, government action, natural disaster or labor action, Tech-Eyes will not be liable.
