Parts Warranty

Purpose

The Parts Warranty defines the limits of coverage Tech-Eyes offers for replacement parts installed as part of an authorized repair service. It assures the customer that any part we install is of good quality and free from manufacturing defects when used under normal conditions. This warranty defines the circumstances under which any defective component will be repaired or replaced, the exclusions, the obligation of the customer and the procedure for claiming the warranty. This warranty covers only the replaced part, not the customer's equipment generally, and not any condition or defect other than the condition for which the part was replaced.

Definition of a "Replacement Part"

A “Replacement Part” is defined as any new, refurbished, OEM, aftermarket or functionally equivalent hardware component supplied and modified by Tech-Eyes as part of an authorized repair. Only parts supplied and installed by Tech-Eyes are covered by this warranty. Any parts the customer supplies, or that a third party installs, are not covered by this warranty unless Tech-Eyes specifically covers them in writing.

Definition of an Eligible Part Failure

An eligible part failure is a malfunction in the replacement component itself, caused by a manufacturing fault, defective material, a workmanship issue in the part, or premature breakdown during normal/everyday use within the warranty period. Failures caused by accidental damage, misuse, external impact, liquid exposure, or a problem unrelated to the replaced component are not eligible failures.

Customer Acceptance of Repair Completion

When picking up a repaired device, customers are encouraged to check that the newly installed component is working as expected before leaving. If no problem is flagged shortly after collection, the part will generally be treated as having worked correctly at the time of pickup, without prejudice to the applicable warranty period that follows.

Tech-Eyes Responsibilities

Tech-Eyes commits to:

  • Reviewing every Parts Warranty claim fairly and objectively

  • Examining the reported component with reasonable technical diligence

  • Confirming warranty eligibility based on repair records and inspection results

  • Honoring claims that meet the terms of this warranty

  • Sharing inspection outcomes clearly with the customer

  • Repairing or replacing eligible components in line with this policy

Complete Warranty Claim Procedure

To raise a Parts Warranty claim, a customer should:

  1. Bring or send in the repaired device along with proof of the original repair (invoice, repair receipt, or equivalent documentation).

  1. Allow Tech-Eyes to inspect the replacement component and review the repair history on file.

  1. Cooperate with any diagnostic testing needed to confirm the cause of the fault.

  1. Wait for Tech-Eyes to determine eligibility and propose a resolution before any repair or replacement work begins.

No warranty repair or replacement will proceed until this review is complete and Tech-Eyes has communicated a resolution to the customer.

Customer Acceptance of Inspection Results

Customers understand that eligibility under this warranty is decided only after Tech-Eyes has carried out its own inspection and technical review. Filing a claim does not guarantee it will be approved - the outcome depends entirely on what the inspection finds, assessed against the terms set out in this warranty.

Resolution Priority

When a claim is approved, Tech-Eyes decides the most suitable solution based on technical feasibility, parts availability, and what is practical and reasonable at the time. As a general rule:

  • Repairing the affected component is considered first.

  • Replacing the component is considered if repair isn't practical.

  • Another reasonable resolution is offered only if neither of the above is workable.

Customer Cooperation

Customers are expected to support the warranty process by:

  • Giving accurate and complete information about the issue

  • Making the device available for inspection when requested

  • Responding promptly to requests for documentation or clarification

  • Removing any activation locks or passcodes needed for diagnostics

  • Assisting Tech-Eyes in reproducing or verifying the reported fault

Delays or gaps in cooperation may hinder the progress of a claim or even impact its outcome.

Warranty Claim Timeframe

Any suspected fault with a replacement part should be reported as soon as it's noticed. The longer a customer waits to report an issue, the harder it can become for Tech-Eyes to accurately determine what caused the failure, which may affect how the claim is handled where permitted under applicable law.

Replacement Component Standards

Parts covered by this warranty may be new, refurbished, OEM, aftermarket, or otherwise equivalent, provided they deliver comparable functionality, compatibility, and performance to the original part supplied. Small variations in brand, cosmetic appearance, revision number, or production batch do not affect a component's eligibility for coverage.

No Cash Settlement

Unless required by applicable consumer protection law, this warranty does not give customers the right to request a cash refund or monetary payout in place of a repair or replacement. Resolution options under this Parts Warranty are limited to those described above.

Warranty Does Not Restart

When a defective part is repaired or replaced under this warranty, the original warranty period continues to run; it does not reset, extend, or begin again unless Tech-Eyes confirms otherwise in writing.

Customer Communication

Throughout the claims process, Tech-Eyes will keep customers updated on:

  • Progress of the warranty inspection

  • Any additional diagnostics required

  • Availability of replacement components

  • Expected repair completion timing

  • The final decision on the claim

Force Majeure

Tech-Eyes is not liable for delays in handling Parts Warranty claims caused by events outside our reasonable control, including supplier shortages, discontinued components, shipping or customs delays, manufacturer backorders, natural disasters, or government action.

Practical Examples

Typically Covered

  • A Tech-Eyes-installed charging port stops working during normal use due to a manufacturing fault

  • A replacement display develops dead pixels traced back to a defective component

  • A replacement speaker fails because of an internal manufacturing issue

  • A replacement battery fails as a result of a confirmed manufacturing defect

Typically Not Covered

  • A replacement screen cracks after the device is dropped

  • A charging port is damaged from using an incompatible charger or forcing the connector

  • A replacement battery swells due to exposure to excessive heat or moisture

  • A replacement camera fails after the device was opened by another repair shop

  • A new, unrelated fault develops on the motherboard that has no connection to the part originally replaced

These examples illustrate common scenarios and are not a complete list. We review every claim individually based on the reported issue and the results of our inspection.

This Parts Warranty works alongside Tech-Eyes' Repair Warranty and general Warranty Policy. Where the Repair Warranty focuses on the quality of the workmanship performed, this Parts Warranty focuses specifically on the performance and reliability of the component supplied. Nothing in this warranty limits any statutory rights customers hold under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation.
