Purpose
The Store Pickup Policy explains how customers can collect items bought through Tech-Eyes, whether the order was reserved online ahead of time or purchased in person. This policy explains how orders are confirmed, who is eligible to collect orders, how identity is verified, how long orders are held, and what is expected of customers and Tech-Eyes throughout the process, as this works primarily through physical retail outlets. It’s meant to ensure pickups are secure, efficient, and uniform, and to reduce fraud, lost orders, and operational errors. Going forward, this policy supports the “Buy Online, Pick Up In Store” (BOPIS) service as Tech-Eyes expands its online shopping options.
Definitions
Store Pickup - The collection of a product purchased or reserved through Tech-Eyes at an approved retail location.
Pickup Confirmation - The notice Tech-Eyes sends to let a customer know their order is ready for pickup.
Authorized Collector - Someone the original purchaser has approved to pick up an order on their behalf.
Holding Period - The length of time Tech-Eyes will keep an order set aside before it’s cancelled or returned to inventory.
Participating Store - A Tech-Eyes retail location that offers store pickup.
Pickup Eligibility
Store Pickup is available only for qualifying products, at participating locations, once payment has been authorized and the order has been verified. Certain items, including select promotional offers, age-restricted products, special orders, or products with limited stock, may not be eligible for this service. Eligibility should always be confirmed at the time an order is placed, since availability can differ from one location to another.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are advised to not go to the store unless they have received confirmation that their order will be picked up, as items may not be ready to pick up in advance. Customers must come with their order confirmation and identification to pick up their order.
Orders must be picked up within the applicable holding period; if more time is needed, the store should be notified in advance. Customers are encouraged to check their items for damage, missing accessories, or incorrect products before leaving the premises and to report any concerns in real time so they can be addressed on the spot.
Tech-Eyes Responsibilities
Tech-Eyes commits to:
Preparing eligible orders with reasonable professional care
Confirming customer eligibility before releasing any product
Notifying customers as soon as their order is ready
Keeping pickup orders securely stored throughout the holding period
Looking into any pickup-related issues that are reported
Releasing products only once the required verification steps are complete
Pickup Timeline
Estimated preparation times are provided as a general guide and are not guaranteed, since they can shift based on inventory transfers, stock levels, payment checks, fraud screening, product setup, or how busy a store is at a given time. Customers shouldn’t head to the store based on the estimated timeline alone; the official pickup confirmation is what indicates an order is genuinely ready for collection.
Third-Party Collection Procedure
If a purchaser wants someone else to collect their order, Tech-Eyes may ask for advance written authorization from the purchaser, a copy of the order confirmation, proof of purchase if reasonably needed, and valid government-issued ID from the person collecting the order. If this authorization can’t be properly verified, Tech-Eyes reserves the right to withhold release of the order until it can be.
Unclaimed Orders
If an order isn’t picked up within its holding period and no extension has been arranged, Tech-Eyes may take one or more of the following steps:
Cancel the order
Return the product to inventory
Process a refund in line with the Refund Policy, where applicable
Void any promotional pricing tied to the order
Apply other reasonable administrative steps consistent with company policy
Payment Requirements
Where full payment is required before collection, the order will not be released until that payment has cleared. If payment verification is still in progress, or if additional fraud checks are needed, collection may be delayed until those checks are finished.
Partial Pickup
For orders containing more than one item, Tech-Eyes may allow a customer to collect part of the order where it’s operationally practical to do so. Any remaining items stay in the holding period as normal, unless a different arrangement has been agreed upon.
Product Inspection & Acceptance
Before leaving the store, customers are encouraged to check that the model, color, storage capacity, included accessories, and overall packaging condition match what was ordered. Collecting the order doesn’t waive any statutory consumer rights, but confirming these details on the spot makes it much easier to resolve any discrepancy right away.
Customer Communication
Tech-Eyes will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed at each stage, including:
Order confirmation
Notification that the order is ready for pickup
Reminders as the holding period approaches its end
Confirmation of any approved holding period extensions
Cancellation notices, where applicable
Updates on any operational delays affecting collection
Force Majeure
Tech-Eyes is not responsible for delays in preparing or releasing pickup orders caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including supplier shortages, inventory discrepancies, severe weather, transportation disruptions, power outages, government actions, or labor disputes.
Practical Examples
Example 1 - Standard Online Pickup
Customer places an online order, receives an “Order Confirmed” notice, waits for the “Ready for Pickup” confirmation, visits the store, has their ID verified, and the order is released.
Example 2 - Authorized Third-Party Collection
Customer arranges for a family member to collect the order, authorization is provided in advance, the collector’s government ID is verified, and the order is released.
Example 3 - Order Not Collected in Time
Customer doesn’t collect the order within the holding period; a reminder is sent, no response is received, the order is cancelled, the product is returned to inventory, and a refund is processed per the Refund Policy, where applicable.
Example 4 - Pickup Location Changed After Preparation
Customer requests a different pickup location after the order has already been prepared, an inventory transfer is required, pickup is delayed, and the customer is notified of the new timeline.
Example 5 - Early Arrival Before Confirmation
Customer arrives at the store before receiving pickup confirmation; the order is still being prepared, and the customer is asked to wait until confirmation is received before the order can be collected.
The purpose of this policy is to complement the following Tech-Eyes policies: Shipping Policy, Return Policy, Refund Policy, and Warranty Policy. Tech-Eyes is growing its online services and could add curbside pickup, appointment pickup or pickup lockers. Tech-Eyes reserves the right to change pickup procedures, identification requirements, holding periods and participating locations as part of its operations.
